Our Work
Southern Estate
My client now lives in the house where she grew up. It’s a stately brick home surrounded by boxwoods, tall pines, azaleas, Southern Jasmine and memories. She and her husband have traveled extensively in the United Kingdom and they are passionate about preserving its nature, beauty and history. Naturally, as a true Anglophile, my client wanted to incorporate the qualities and delights of an English garden on her own property. She has a great sense of style, appreciates quality, and had a strong vision for creating special garden rooms on her almost 2-acre site. I was privileged to partner with her to articulate that vision. Although, like any work of art, a garden, is never truly finished.
We created a series of outdoor rooms, each with a different palette of plants and its own special character. The Crescent Garden embodies the true feeling of a walled English Garden with its French limestone fountain, curved brick walls, stone walkway and lush mixed borders. The pale pink gates were inspired by Prince Charles kitchen garden gates at Highgrove.
Bartley Potager
Jennifer designed this modern potager filled with herbs, perennials, annuals, and edibles to be a beautiful place of relaxation and sustenance for her family. The Potager is right outside the family’s kitchen door, making it easy to grab parsley, lettuce, other fresh herbs and garnishes while cooking.
The Potager is a quadripartite garden like medieval kitchen gardens. Brick pathways run between the four raised beds. A picket fence surrounds the garden, protecting it from small animals. A gate at either end completes the symmetrical design.
